About the Journal
Clear, kind guides for parents of kids 4 to 8, written so that you can check every claim we make.
Who we are
The WonderLab Journal is published by WonderLab, the company that makes The Money & Business Library, a set of illustrated picture books about money for kids 4 to 8. The guides are researched, written and fact-checked by the WonderLab Journal editorial desk. We sign as a desk rather than under individual names.
Some guides mention our books, and we say so plainly when they do. Most of what we publish has nothing to do with them: the best books for a nervous five-year-old, how to wind down bedtime, what to do when reading at home turns into a standoff.
How each guide is made
- One guide answers one question parents actually search for.
- Facts come from named sources: research reviews, government guidance such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and professional bodies. Each guide lists its sources at the bottom, with links.
- When we recommend books, we name only books that exist, with their real authors, and we do not invent reading levels, prices or awards.
- We update a guide when its sources change, and show the date it was updated.
What we will not publish
- Made-up statistics, quotes, reviews or testimonials.
- Promises about results, such as a smarter, richer or better-behaved child by a certain date.
- Guilt. Parents get enough of it. We write to help you with the next conversation, not to grade the last one.
- Medical, psychological or legal advice. For a worry about your own child, talk to your pediatrician or a qualified professional.
